About me
I am a public policy expert with experience in international development, financial sector and negotiations of multilateral agreements. Currently, I focus on issues related to gender, financial inclusion, and climate change. I believe in sustainable development and teach to Undergraduate students about sustainability, leadership and microeconomics.
I have significant practical experience implementing and managing development programs, as I designed and implemented the 1st female entrepreneurship program targeted to beneficiaries of Conditional Cash Transfers (CCTs) in the Dominican Republic (DR): SUPEREmprendedoras. Further, I was a leading negotiator of the Paris Agreement, being Co-Chair of an Informal Working Group on Gender and acting G77+ China Coordinator on issues related to Education and Climate Change, worked in the diplomatic service of the Dominican Republic to the United Kingdom, assisting in the development of bilateral agreements and as a political liaison to the British Parliament and Non-Governmental Organizations.
In terms of academia, I've worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Georgetown University, as an Adjunct Professor at Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) and Barna Management School, teaching to the Business and Administration cohorts (BBA) in English.
Currently, I work with multilateral development banks on issues related to Sustainable Finance, Climate Change, Investment Promotion and Financial Inclusion. I primarily work with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group. In the past, I've worked for UNFPA designing monitoring and evaluation systems to implement public policies to prevent teenage pregnancies and child marriage. I've also worked with Expertise France (EF) as External Advisor on Sutainable Finance initiatives (2024-2025), for IDB Invest in the evaluation of green finance operations (2022-2023), as Director at the Superintendency of Banks of the DR, where I led the design of the 1st Strategic Plan that considered sustainability and diversity practices into its operational reform (2020-2022). Prior, I worked for the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) in modernization efforts to facilitate Transparency, Digital Transformation and improved Civil Service systems, with the Organization of American States (OAS) and with the World Bank (2018 -2020).
In my spare time, I volunteer for causes I believe can make the world a better place. I completed an Education and Culture Environmental Protection and Resilience Program funded by the U.S. Department of State, which involved community service in the US and in the DR, former Commissioner for the Commission on Latino Community Development of the Mayor's Office in Washington, D.C. through which I assisted and represented the needs of the Latin community in the area (2019-2022). Other notable volunteer positions: former Vice-President of the Latin American Policy Association (LAPA 2018) at Georgetown University, Hult Alumni Executive Board (2017-2019), President of Hult's Model United Nations Society (2010-2011), London International Model United Nations (2010-2013), Heads of States (HoS) section at Annual Meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative (2011), Founder of Women's Empowerment Program I am Woman presented at Clinton Global Initiative for Universities (CGIU 2011-2012), Service for Peace (2009) and volunteer of the United Nations Association of the Dominican Republic (UNA-DR | 2009 - current).
